The Readme platform implements a unique and equitable payouts mechanism that rewards content creators (authors) and moderators for their contributions. This system is designed to ensure fair compensation based on the value each user brings to the platform. Below is a detailed description of how the payouts mechanism works:

Token and USDC-Based Incentives:

• For Authors: Authors earn payouts when their articles are promoted to the main section of the platform. The payouts are proportional to the engagement their articles receive, including views and interactions.

• For Moderators: Moderators who upvote articles that later get promoted receive additional Karma points and a share of the rewards allocated for the article.

• For $READ token incentives, 80% of the payouts is allocated to the authors, and 20% goes to moderators who voted for an article that is subject to payouts.

• For USDC incentives, 50% is allocated to the protocol to sponsor its further development and growth, 40% goes to the author, and 10% is allocated to moderators.

Sources of Earnings:

• Article Reads: Authors earn based on the organic reads their articles receive. The Readme algorithm carefully analyzes metrics such as visit length and user engagement to ensure that only genuine interactions are rewarded.

• Ad Placements: Authors and moderators share in the revenue generated from ads placed within articles. This model encourages the creation of high-quality, engaging content that attracts more readers and, consequently, more advertisers.

Reward Distribution:

• Reads and Interactions: Rewards for article reads and user interactions are distributed in $READ tokens, the native cryptocurrency of the platform.

• Ad Revenue: The income generated from ad placements is shared between the author and moderators who supported the article. This revenue is paid in stablecoins, providing a reliable and stable source of income.

Performance Analytics:

• Authors have access to detailed analytics, allowing them to track the performance of their articles. This feature helps them understand audience engagement and optimize their future content for better earnings.

Community Governance:

• The payout mechanism is subject to adjustments and improvements proposed and voted on by the community. This ensures that the system evolves to meet the users' needs and remains fair and resistant to manipulative practices like Sybil attacks.
